Mrs. Meghan James

Mrs. James is one of our seventh and eighth grade math teachers as well as a seventh grade homeroom teacher.
Why do you teach?
I love that teaching is a job that is different every day, and I love how much fun my students can be. While I enjoy returning to favorite projects and lessons, there are always new things to learn and new ways to do things. Continued access to new technologies keeps the classroom evolving – there is so much available to my students in terms of visualizing math and using real world data.

Why do you teach Middle School?
Middle school is a major time of growth for students - physically, socially, academically, and emotionally - and I like helping kids navigate that great big mess! Their progress from the beginning of seventh grade to graduation is amazing.

What do you want your students to get from having known you?
They make me laugh and smile every day, and I hope I can do the same for them. I also try to convince all of them to study abroad in college!

What is the most important life lesson that you want your students to take from your subject area or grade level?
Everyone can be good at math. There are a lot of different ways to look at problems, and we all don't have to think about things the same way. Mistakes are good, and we all make them!
